The wonderful people at hip_domestics
pointed this out to me.
If you have a fur coat or any fur-trimmed items that you don't want anymore, please donate them to The Humane Society of the United States "Coats for Cubs" program. The fur items are used as surrogate moms for orphaned and injured wildlife. Giving the fur back to the animals.
My mom has a 50 year old rabbit fur coat that she has never worn. It was inherited from her mother. She doesn't want to give it to anyone, even a charity, because she doesn't want anyone to wear it (she is also against the fur industry). She was just going to cut it up and throw it away. I gave her this information and she agreed that it was the best option. Why throw it away when it could literally save an animal's life?
